Batman and the lucky crook!

Check out this article I came across about a comic book store owner and how he came across Detective Comics #27 (the first appearance of Batman). This comic is the Giant Squid of the comic world and this guy just happens to run into some shmuck who found it and is looking to sell. The comic shop owner of course does not release the price he paid for the comic but mentions a savings he had been keeping for just such an occasion. I don't know about all you other comic freaks, but I probably have never sneezed in the direction of something this rare. I hate life.
Buffalo Wild Wings - Harlingen
.jpg)
Here is another installment of my infamous food review. Don't worry fans, not all my reviews are negative...unfortunately this isn't going to be a positive one. Well, don't be too down cause you know you people love bad reviews.
So it's lunch time and I'm in Harlingen and my lady friend and I have been planning to check out Buffalo Wild Wings since she had a good experience there recently. We walk in and things go great very quickly. We are greeted and told we can sit anywhere we wanted. I love sitting where I want because for the most part I choose not to sit next to douche bags and and their douche bag children screaming and running all over like it's Disneyland. I digress.
Our waiter quickly takes our drink orders. The drinks come fast but the food did take awhile. When we finally received our food the order was wrong, as usual. The waiter quickly apologized and attempted to correct his mistake so all was forgiven. The food itself was mediocre. It was the same old buffalo wings with no special flair about them.
And now for the best part of this story. This is where our waiter really shows his true colors. In the middle of our meal he approaches us letting us know that it's the end of his shift and if we would mind him closing out our tab. Me, being the nice guy that I am, let him know it's ok. He brings me the check and I go ahead and give him a 20 dollar bill for a check that was $18 and change. I let him know that I cannot reach into my wallet because I have bbq sauce all over my fingers. I tell him to keep the change. This waiter actually has the nerve to say "Wow, a dollar and change...what a tip." I kept my mouth shut out of respect for my lady friend but what does he expect me to do? Should I risk getting bbq sauce all over and inside my wallet just to give him a couple more bucks right there and then? Isn't it common courtesy to wait till someone is finished with their meal before you approach the with having to deal with the financials? Well, guess what you just desearved buddy!

Tony Roma's - Brownsville

Want bad service, high prices, and possibly the worst steak you'll ever have in your life? Why not try Tony Roma's in Brownsville? Enjoy the classy atmosphere even before you enter the restaurant where you'll be greeted by the finest crack-heads Mexico can offer who loiter the front doors hours on end. Think management care...think again! Sit at their flimsy tables or booths and enjoy track lighting that flicker so often you'll wonder when you'll have an epileptic fit.
So I show up last week all because of a coupon I got sent in the mail. I had only been to Tony Roma's once about a year ago so I was a Roma's virgin, and like a virgin (touched for the very first time) I am completely let down and disappointed. Once I finally order my food (New York Strip with broccoli and green beans) it arrives cold on a hot plate and not cooked according to my order. I'm sorry but there is a huge difference between medium-rare and completely dry and well done. Once I finally got the waiter's attention he gave a flat apology and offered me another stake. Fifteen minutes later the waiter returns claiming they were all out of New York Strips so of course I have to order something else.
Here begins a new ordeal. I ask for the combination dinner of baby back ribs and an 8 0z. Sirloin steak but I want it at the same price as the New York Strip. Does that sound ridiculous? NO! The food is finally brought by the manager this time and she mentions that for the inconvenience I will receive a free desert. The food was still cold and mediocre and by that point I want to eat quickly and leave.
How can everything be fixed?
1. Hire wait-staff who speak basic English.
2. Hire cooks who know cooking lingo.
3. Learn to show empathy, have a "can do" attitude, and acknowledge that something was wrong.
4. Put up the sign below.

The Temporary Downfall of the Motion Picture Industry.
Finally!! Hollywood will potentially fall to it's knees if a proposed strike takes place in 2008! The Screen Actor's Guild, Writers Guild of America, and the Directors Guild of America are all threatening a strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The different guilds (who have some kind of contract with Alliance) are wanting changes made to their current decades old contracts mainly centering around royalties received from Internet distribution. Hollywood's reaction to the strike is to rush movies to completion before July 2008. Click here for a link of movies but here is my reaction to a few:
1. Cell - Eli Roth's next movies based on a book by Steven King. A cell phone signal is sent to cell phones across the planet and turns everyone into zombies who are transforming into something worse and how survivors cope now that society has fallen.
2. Comeback - Who keeps giving Fred Durst work?? Durst is set to direct what will probably be a steaming pile of bullshit. I don't care enough to look up the plot but this movie fades into oblivion.
3. Porky's - A remake of the classic comedy with the infamous shower peep hole scene. If you have no idea what I'm referring to then do yourself a favor and hide back under that rock you've been under.
4. Prince of Persia - Based on the popular multi-platform video game which will probalby suck as much as every game based movie.
5. Magneto - Out of every X-men and their rogue gallery, why a Magneto movie??
6. Wolverine - This makes more sense but when his Hollywood going to learn that the popularity with comics isn't just what was big in the 1990's.
7. Trial of the Chicago 7 - Spielberg's next flix which will probably be pushed back after the proposed strike.
8. The Serious Man - The next Coen Brothers movie which should be another masterpiece.
9. The A-Team - I pity the fool!
10. The Day the Earth Stood Still - A remake of a classic sci-fi flick. The story of humanities first face to face with beings from another world and our idiot reaction.
11. Fantastic Voyage - Another Roland Emmerich piece of steaming poo.
12. Street Figher - Based on the video game. Let's hope they get it right this time.
13. Another Bullshit Night in Suck City - I love that title!
14. Life of Pi - Based on a novel about a shipwrecked Indian boy and various zoo animals. It's actually a great book and I won't ruin it for you.
15. The Spirit - Directed by Frank Millar about a the Will Eisner created comic.
16. World War Z - A documentary style flix taking place after a zombie infestation.
17. The Punisher II - Titled War Journal. Doesn't have Thomas Jane and no one should expect to be entertained.
18. Barbarella - Robert Rodriguez is directing this remake of a weird classic sci-fi film. Set to star Rose McGowan.
19. Gears of War - Based on the popular video game...the one you used to play on X-box 360 before Halo 3 was out.
20. Star Trek - The J.J. Abrams film with a young Spock and Kirk.
Check here for a complete list of movies and the story of why they might be affected by the strike.

Girl Talk has got me talking.

Here I was tracking through the Internet minding my own business and suddenly I'm hit with an album cover that makes me raise my right eyebrow. Those of you that know me (I'm talking to you cause I would never get anyone I didn't force to read this blog) know that I only raise an eyebrow to annoy you or show you that something grabbed my attention. Back to my story...I check out this band who call themselves Girl Talk and listened to Night Ripper which was released in May 2006. I picked a random song from the album and to my surprise I hear a sampling of "Where is my mind" by The Pixies mixed in with P Diddy and I nearly messed myself. Now that I've heard the entire album (you don't want to know how) and I have now discovered the wonders of mash-ups. I looked up what videos they have on YouTube and I found an entire concert! So for your viewing pleasure, here is an hour long Girl Talk album!

Queen lives on in He-Man
It's about time you learn that most of my time on YouTube is spent watching anime music videos. These are videos created by people who, like myself, have no life and a lot of free time. Without further delay here is the first of many anime music videos to come. Watch for the Wayne's World headbanging sequence in this masterpiece.
Hulk smash weekend warriors and a dancing bumble bee.
- TV week reports that Hulkamania lives on! Terry "Hulk" Hogan will host the new American Gladiators. I remember that show and occasionally catch it on really late night television but I can't say for certain I'm looking forward to the back story of each competitor during each episode. I hate reality television.
- Snarkerati.com has compiled a list of the top 50 dystopian movies of all time based on their ratings from IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. I usually completely disagree with these lists, but you can't really argue with movie ratings on Rotten Tomatoes can you?
- CHUD reports that James Wong (The One, Final Destination) will be directing the live action DragonBall Z movie. For those of you not in the know...DragonBall Z is the greatest action cartoon created by man but, as usual with these types of movies, we can hope for the best and prepare for a complete and utter disaster. I'm still dragging one lucky friend kicking and screaming into the theater to suffer with me.
- Finally, my dog is being forced to humiliate herself by dressing up for Halloween as the fat girl from the Blind Melon video. I wonder where that fat girl is now?

Transformers do the Macarena and Pickachu gets some.
It's Monday and I have nothing better to do then search YouTube. Now that this is my new hobby I decided to share awesome videos I find. First off we have my costume inspiration for this Halloween. Before you guys start drooling over the ghetto booty in the video I should warn you that it's a guy in drag.
Our next video made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Cuteness abounds...so again...be warned!

'Moonlight' should have never seen the light of day.

I really was not looking forward to watching "Moonlight" on CBS Friday night but I felt it was my duty as a fan boy to watch an "Angel" rip-off just to have the right to say "I told you so" when it completely flops halfway through the season. I set my DVR to record and eventually found time later the next day to sit and watch it (I like pretending I have better things to do then watch TV but who am I kidding). The show was horrible and would you like to know why? Well I'll tell you...it had a predictably simple storyline with even worse dialogue and horrible acting. The one aspect I thought could make this show worth putting up with one episode for was the return of Logan Echols to television, but alas, I was wrong. I was embarrassed by Jason Dohring's performance because you can definitely tell that he can't pull off the "bad boy" image without the right script. Don't get me started on this show's vampire mythos. I understand how it has to seperate itself from the all holy Whedon vampires but this was just flat out insulting. No weakness to garlic, very little sensativity to sunlight, and you've got to be kidding me about wooden stakes having no effect. By the way, colored contact lenses and simple stick on fangs do not make for a believable vampire. Here is my final word...Skip this show completely!
Good news about Jessica Biel and the Justice League Movie.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Jessica Biel has passed on playing Wonder Woman in the upcoming Justice League movie. Not that I would mind staring at Ms. Biel's amazing badonka donk for a couple of hours, but she's no Amazonian princess. There is hope for this movie after all. Now let us focus all our hopes and prayers on Christian Bale being offered the role of Batman. Also just reported by Mania, Tyrese Gibson is up for the role of John Stewart, aka Green Lantern (the black one from the cartoon for those not in the know). I don't have an opinion about this rumor but keep in mind Warner Bros isn't going to release any casting information until all the roles are filled.

The first post.
This is the first posting for The Big Feed RGV. We will be reviewing anything and everything that crosses my mind. Comics, movies, music, local events, restaurants...not one thing is safe or sacred. I am new at this, the only previous experience blogging I carry is from MySpace so if everything is completely wrong just bare with me. Come back and comment as often as humanly possible.
